Q:So, Mark, how did you feel when you woke up from being unconscious and found out you were left to die?
A:Well I felt kind of scared and I really didn't know what to do. All actually did know what to do was to not panic and believe that I would make it out okay.And that's pretty much all i really knew how to do and it got me here alive today.
Q:What were some of your survival techniques?
A:Well the most important was for me to make a fire and be able to hunt some small game for food, and with all the fallen bodies I wasn't to worried about ammunition. Although never once did I resort to cannibalism, the thought never even crossed my mind. I boiled water that I looted off of other peoples canteens so that I could drink something that wasn't infected.
Q:Did you ever want to give up during your journey?
A: Never. I wanted to get home no matter the cost. Plain and simple.
